1. Introduction

Welcome to DeutschWeg ("we," "us") — a German B1 exam prep platform offering writing practice (Schreiben), speaking practice (Sprechen), study materials, and related features at https://www.deutschweg.online/.

By accessing or using DeutschWeg's services, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.

The service is intended for users aged 16 and older. If you are a minor under the law of your place of residence, you must have parental/guardian consent to use the service and make payments.

2. User Rights and Obligations

2.1 Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your account login details (email, password) secure.
  • Each account is for individual use by one person. Sharing your account with others is a violation of these Terms. DeutschWeg reserves the right to limit the number of devices logged in simultaneously per account (currently up to 2 devices) to ensure appropriate individual use.
  • You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it updated when it changes.

2.2 Appropriate Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Intentionally interfere with, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the system, database, or other users' accounts.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to access, download, or collect data from the platform beyond normal individual use.
  • Copy or redistribute DeutschWeg's content/study materials to anyone other than yourself, in any form (see also Section 4 — Intellectual Property).
  • Behave inappropriately or disrespectfully toward teachers or fellow learners during speaking sessions or grading interactions.

Violating these rules may result in DeutschWeg suspending or terminating your account without refunding any unused portion of the service, depending on the severity of the violation.

2.3 Content You Submit

Essays and recordings you submit during practice remain your property. By submitting content, you grant DeutschWeg permission to use it for grading, providing feedback, and improving service quality (including training/fine-tuning the AI grading system using aggregated/anonymized data where possible).

3. Payment, Refund, and Expiration Policy

3.1 Payment

  • Plan prices are listed publicly on the website and do not include tax or payment processing fees.
  • Payments are processed through our partner, Stripe. DeutschWeg does not directly store your card information.
  • Once payment is successful, your plan is activated automatically in your account.

3.2 No Mid-Cycle Plan Changes

While a plan is active, you cannot switch to a different plan. When your plan is about to expire or has expired, you can choose a new plan (same type or different) from the Account section.

3.3 Refund Policy

  • Refunds are not provided. You have the opportunity to try the product for free before deciding to use paid services. Once a service has been used (an essay submitted / a session attended), no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
  • If a technical error on DeutschWeg's part prevents you from using a service you've purchased, DeutschWeg will extend your access by the corresponding amount of time.

3.4 Free Trial

The free trial program (both speaking practice and the writing placement test) is subject to the conditions stated at the time you sign up, and applies only once per account/email.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the DeutschWeg platform — including but not limited to: website interface, source code, design, logo, exam questions, question banks, study materials, sample essays, videos, and any other content — is the property of DeutschWeg or is used under lawful license, and is protected under intellectual property law.

The following are strictly prohibited without DeutschWeg's written consent:

  • Copying, screenshotting, storing, or reproducing all or part of the website's interface, source code, or design.
  • Copying, redistributing, publicly posting, or commercializing DeutschWeg's exam questions, study materials, or sample essays in any form.
  • Using automated tools to crawl, scrape, or bulk-download content from the platform.
  • Building a competing product/service by copying DeutschWeg's ideas, interface, or content.

Violations may be subject to legal action under applicable intellectual property law, including but not limited to claims for damages.

5. Limitation of Liability

  • DeutschWeg makes reasonable efforts to ensure service quality but does not guarantee the service will be entirely error-free or uninterrupted.
  • Grading results are for reference and study support purposes only — they are not an official exam result and do not replace the official B1 exam.
  • DeutschWeg is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
  • In all cases, DeutschWeg's maximum liability (if any) will not exceed the amount you paid for the plan directly related to the claim.

6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will first be resolved through negotiation. If no agreement is reached, disputes will be resolved under German law, at the competent authority.

8. Changes to These Terms

DeutschWeg may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
