Frequently asked questions

Why structured reading practice matters+

In an exam, you need to understand the task, identify key information, and make decisions with limited time. Regular practice by question type helps you read with more purpose and avoid losing points to small misunderstandings.

What is the difference between Mock tests and Practice mode?+

Mock tests let you complete a full reading paper in an exam-style format and practise managing the 65-minute time limit. Practice mode breaks Reading into smaller activities: individual exam parts, vocabulary by topic, connectors, grammar in context, and finding and correcting mistakes. Use Mock tests to check your performance; use Practice mode to improve the skill behind each mistake.

Which level should I start with?+

Start with the level that matches your current German ability, not only the certificate you hope to take. Material that is too difficult makes it harder to see what you need to improve; material that is too easy will not prepare you for the next level. A placement assessment will guide this more precisely as it becomes available.

How should I use Mock tests and Practice mode together?+

Take a full Mock test first to see which exam parts or skills are difficult. Then practise those areas in smaller sessions. Return to another full Mock test to check whether your result and time management have improved.

What will I practise in Practice mode?+

Practice mode includes individual exam parts from Mock tests as well as focused reading activities: vocabulary by topic, connectors and text logic, grammar in context, and finding and correcting mistakes. Activities are organised by level and topic so you can focus on a specific weakness.
