Frequently asked questions
Why structured listening practice matters+
Listening tasks move quickly, and important information may be said only once. Focused practice helps you recognise key details, avoid common distractors, and stay calm when you hear unfamiliar voices or accents.
What is the difference between Mock tests and Practice mode?+
Mock tests let you complete a full listening test under exam-style audio-playback conditions: audio plays in order, with preparation time before each section, and you cannot pause, seek, or replay it during the session. Practice mode lets you replay audio, adjust playback speed, and work through one Teil at a time.
Which level should I start with?+
Start with the level that is closest to your current German ability, not only the certificate you hope to take. Material that is too difficult makes it harder to identify what to improve; material that is too easy will not prepare you for the next level.
How should I use Mock tests and Practice mode together?+
Take a full Mock test first to see which parts are difficult. Then practise those parts with replay and focused activities. Return to another Mock test to check whether your listening has improved.
What will I practise in Practice mode?+
Practice mode includes Teil 1–4 from the available mock test. You can select the audio for a Teil, replay it, and adjust playback speed while answering its questions.
